Youth Civic Engagement and Leadership Program

The Y’s Youth Civic Engagement programs give young people a platform to affect real, positive change within the community. Middle and high school students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to participate in one or more of these programs that will expand knowledge and experience in:

  • Local, state and international affairs
  • Real world problem solving
  • Community service that matters
  • Sound research practices
  • Public speaking
  • And more

Youth and Government™ (Grades 7 – 12)

For middle and high school students interested in local and state government. This unique program allows students to get a glimpse into government affairs while practicing public speaking, and preparing for career success. The program culminates with teens serving as delegates at a state conference.

Model United Nations (Grades 6 – 12)

For middle and high school students who want to be global citizens and are interested in peacekeeping and humanitarian work. In addition to gaining a global perspective, students will develop skills to help them prepare for career and college success.
